The awarding ceremony for the first batch of the certificate course in Reproductive Health (CCRH) was held from 4-5 pm on the 17th of June 2025 in the Mini Board Room of the University of Jaffna. This event was jointly organized by the Departments of Obstetrics & Gynecology and the Department of Psychiatry with the Centre for Open Distance Learning (CODL), University of Jaffna.
The program aimed to recognize and celebrate the successful completion of the course by 21 dedicated participants.
The event was honored by the presence of several esteemed guests, including Prof.S. Srisatkunarajah (Vice Chancellor, UoJ), Prof.S. Chandrabose (council member/ UOJ), Mr. V. Kandeepan (Registrar/UoJ), Mr. K. Sureshkumar (Bursar/ UoJ), Prof.R. Surenthirakumaran (Dean/Medicine, UoJ), Prof.J. Robinson (Director /CODL), Dr.K. Guruparan (course coordinator) and Prof.S. Sivayokan and staffs of CODL and Dept. of Obs. & Gyn. and Dept. of Psychiatry.
The ceremony commenced with a warm welcome address by the course coordinator, followed by the speeches of the Director/CODL, Dean /Medicine. The vice chancellor delivered an inspiring speech, appreciating the initiative and recognizing the significance of such continuing education programs in addressing sensitive and vital topics like reproductive health. He applauded the organizers for their efforts and expressed hope for the continuation and expansion of such academic ventures.
The highlight of the event was the awarding of certificates to 21 participants who had successfully completed the course. Each participant received their certificate in recognition of their commitment and achievement.
The ceremony concluded with a light refreshment session.
The event was marked by enthusiasm, appreciation, and a shared commitment towards improving reproductive health education and awareness.
