IIHMR University, Jaipur, was honoured to host Prof. R. Surenthirakumaran, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, Sri Lanka, on November 14th and 15th, 2025.
During the visit, Prof. Surenthirakumaran held productive discussions with Prof. P.R. Sodani, President, IIHMR University, focusing on enhancing academic cooperation, strengthening the South-East Asia Public Health Institutions Network (SEAPHEIN), and progressing towards a formal Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the institutions.
Furthermore, Prof. Surenthirakumaran visited the Public Health Foundation of India (PHFI), New Delhi, where he met with Prof. Sanjay Zodpey, President, PHFI. The discussions centred on opportunities for joint postgraduate programmes and collaborative research initiatives in Public Health, reinforcing the commitment to advancing public health workforce development in the region.
These engagements aim to cultivate joint academic programmes, strengthen research collaborations, and promote meaningful knowledge exchange, contributing to impactful public health partnerships across South-East Asia.
IIHMR University and the Public Health Foundation of India look forward to productive and enduring collaborations with the University of Jaffna.
