The visit by Faculty of Health-Care Sciences, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, exposing the Community Oriented Primary Care of the Department of Community and Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna took place on 17th of February, 2024 .

The exposure visit started with the meeting presieded by Professor R. Surenthirakumaran, Dean, Faculty of Medicine and coordinated by Dr.S. Kumaran, Consultant Family Physician, Senior Lecturer , Department of Community and Family Medicine.

Prof. T. Sathaanantham,Dean , Faculty of Health-Care Sciences, Eastern University, Sri Lanka, Prof. K. Arulanandem, Head, Department of Primary Health Care, Dr. P.A.D. Coonghe, Head, Department of Community and Family medicine, Dr. G. Pragasan, Lecturer, Department of Primary Health Care, Dr. S. Shobana, Registrar in Family medicine, Lecturer, Department of Primary Health Care, Dr. M.M.M. Imran, Registrar in Family Medicine, the demonstrators, coordinators and community health workers of Family Health Centre, Kondavil joined in the meeting.

The meeting was followed by exposure visit to Centre for Digital Epidemiology (CODE) , Women empowerment activities at Faculty of Medicine, Community based geraitric screening activities at Thirunelveli, Intermediate Learning Centre, Kondavil, Family health Centre, Kondavil and the neurodevelopment clinic at Green Memorial Hospital, Manipay.

Eventually, the exposure visit showcasing the Community Oriented Primary Care model concluded successfully with a discussion focused on bolstering initiatives for women’s empowerment in the Eastern province.
