As part of the Jaffna Healthy City Project, a specialized workshop on Zero Plastic Awareness and Management was conducted for the staff members of the Central Environment Authority, Jaffna held in the Board Room, Faculty of Medicine. The session was facilitated by Prof. K. Gajapathy, who provided in-depth insights into sustainable zero plastic management practices. The workshop critically examined the existing waste management systems, identified key challenges, and proposed practical, evidence-based recommendations aimed at strengthening plastic waste reduction efforts in the region. This initiative aligns with the broader objectives of promoting environmental sustainability and enhancing institutional capacity within the framework of the Healthy City approach.
