The event commenced with the lighting of the traditional oil lamps and the observance of one minute of silence in respect and reflection.
A formal welcome address was delivered by Dr. P. A. D. Coonghe from the Department of Community and Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna. This was followed by inspiring opening remarks from Prof. R. Surenthirakumaran, Dean, Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, which set a positive and reflective tone for the programme.
A short drama performed by teachers emphasized the importance of effective communication.
Rev. Sr. Mary Morin Roche shared her experiences from the Training of Trainers sessions and the implementation of the Manohari Module in schools, highlighting its practical impact on teachers and students. Mrs. Balamathy Gowribahan then addressed the gathering on the future sustainability of the Manohari Module, emphasizing the need for continuous commitment and collaboration.
Certificates of appreciation were awarded to resource persons and teachers from selected schools in recognition of their valuable contributions and active participation in the project.
The ceremony concluded with a heartfelt Vote of Thanks delivered by Dr. R. Laxshika, expressing gratitude to all contributors and participants.
The event came to a successful close around 12.30 p.m., with active participation and enthusiasm from all attendees, followed by the distribution of lunch to mark the end of the
programme.
