The WHO Country Representative, Dr. Rajesh Sambhajirao Pandav, visited the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, on Sunday, 21st December 2025 at 10.30 a.m. to discuss ongoing projects and future directions for collaboration. Academics and research assistants were invited to participate in the discussion.
The Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, University of Jaffna, and his team delivered an insightful presentation on the Jaffna Healthy City Initiative. In 2024, the World Health Organization recognized Jaffna as an Affiliate Healthy City, marking an important milestone in the city’s commitment to health and wellbeing.
The WHO Country Representative expressed appreciation for the progress made and looked forward to continuing these discussions and working together to advance a healthier city for improved health outcomes.
