  1. N. Sathiesswaran, Valarmathy Ambalavanar, M.M Gunawardane and A.N Arulpragasam, Coliforms are the major uropathogens. These pathogens are mostly implemented as the ESBL producer, significantly limiting the treatment option for infections. This study was carried out to determine the prevalence of extended spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) producing coliforms among urinary isolates and their antibiotic sensitivity patterns among clinically suspected patients with urinary tract infection in outdoor patient department at Teaching Hospital Batticaloa. This descriptive cross sectional study was conducted during October 2015 to December 2015.
